I like the Rock better overall. As weird as this sounds its more believable than Con Air......plus. I live in Las Vegas and they completely screw up the geography of that Vegas landing and are in different locations seconds after they hit the Hard Rock...very annoying

You live in Las Vegas? That must be awesome! I prefer The Rock too. It is more serious than Con Air, but then Con Air is kinda a parody, so I think it can get away with silliness to an extent.
If you liked Con Air you must give it a go. It's pure, unrelenting fun! The kind of 90's action film they don't seem to make anymore.
Ok, maybe I will! I got the impression it was more of a slow-burner style thriller (not that there's anything wrong with that) more than unrelenting fun and action, so yeah shouldn't be too hard to get a copy on dvd at the weekend, cheers!

No, it's quite fast moving with quite a lot of action. I loved the car chase at the time.
I've enjoyed Con Air several times, but Cage's accent is too cringe-worthy even for me, and I normally don't blink (much of) an eye at movie accents that others say are horrible. I think that I also found the villains a little over the top, and some of the stunts just stupid enough to ruin my immersion. Loved every minute of Buscemi, though!
The Rock was just as exciting, but I was able to buy into it a lot more easily. Besides ... who can possibly resist the sheer delight of two hours of Sean Connery, who was ten times more badass at 67 than he already was at 32?
I loved both. Action packed and great cast. But if I had to choose one, then Con Air wins it for me. Mainly because of Sirus the Virus. Loved his sarcasm. Is it wrong that I found John Malkovich attractive in this? Also had a soft spot for John Cusack back then.

Well, he was trained by the best- British Intelligence. But in retrospect, he'd have preferred to have been a poet... or a farmer.
